Donated by Judge Irwin Troxell in 1970 to The College of Idaho, the collection consists of vertebrate and invertebrate fossils and anthropological Native American specimens. Some items are on display and others are stored. The collection includes grinding stones, hammerstones, war clubs and other miscellaneous items. Exact locations or strata of deposits were either never recorded or lost for many specimens. Many collections were coated with varnish more than 20 years ago. This has caused extensive damage, especially in unfossilized bone and teeth specimens. Some were dissolved with acetone and cleaned with fine dental tools.
