The museum sponsors a number of College and community programs including:

• College courses
• Museum Workdays
• "Escape to the Museum" every Friday afternoon in the Museum, 1-5 pm
• Taxonomic and ecological studies
• Expeditions and field trips (Australia, Baja California and western states)
• Archaeology Month
• National History Day at The College of Idaho

The museum hosts meetings for affiliate groups including:

• Idaho Archeological Society, Great Basin Chapter
• Idaho Entomology Group
