GLC Online Collection

The George L. Crookham Papers comprise the known extant documents saved by Frank Steunenberg when he left office as governor of Idaho in 1900. The collection includes correspondence by members of the Steunenberg family from Feb. 2, 1882 to Jan. 12, 1890 and from Jan. 8, 1904 to Oct. 31, 1923. In addition, there are various printed materials relating to the events subsequent to Dec. 30, 1905. George L. Crookham’s correspondence with J. Anthony Lukas during the 1990s (incomplete) has been added to the collection, as have materials relating to Col. George E. Steunenberg, USA, a brother of Frank Steunenberg.

The George L. Crookham Papers were donated to the Smylie Archives at the C of I in the spring of 2006.
