Hosted by The College of Idaho — Harold M. Tucker Herbarium (CIC) and Boise State University — Snake River Plain Herbarium (SRP)

Following the tradition established by the Stillinger Herbarium of University of Idaho, the Harold M. Tucker Herbarium of The College of Idaho and the Snake River Plain Herbarium at Boise State University are hosting the Third Conference of Northwest Herbaria at The College of Idaho from 8-10 June 2007.

The Third Conference of Northwest Herbaria will serve to 1) increase the communication between herbaria located in the Northwest by providing meeting opportunities for herbarium personnel, 2) increase the skill levels of herbarium personnel and other botanists by offering workshops on difficult plant taxa, and 3) provide an opportunity for botanists from throughout the Northwest to learn about the unique characteristics of the flora of southwestern Idaho and southeastern Oregon.

Priority registration deadline: 15 April 2007

The following sessions are planned:

  • Friday evening: update on grass taxonomy—Mary Barkworth, Utah State U.
  • Saturday morning: workshop on Polemoniaceae—Leigh Johnson, Brigham Young U.
  • Saturday lunch: update on Pacific Northwest Data portal—David Giblin, U. Washington
  • Saturday afternoon: workshop on the genus Lupinus--Teresa Sholars, College of the Redwoods.
  • Saturday evening: Intermountain Flora—Noel Holmgren—New York Botanical Garden/Utah State U.
  • Sunday: Field Trip to Succor Creek and Leslie Gulch
