A survey of issues surrounding the education of students from a diverse population in a pluralistic society. Topics of study include culture, race, ethnicity, and religion. Cultural issues impacting students academically, socially, and emotionally will be addressed. Strategies for working with parents from non-dominant cultures will be discussed.
NOTE: This course may be offered as EDU-501F (fall, 2 credits) and EDU-501W (winter, 1 credit). When the course is offered in this manner, students must complete both the fall and winter sections.
