C of I Student Hosts
Event Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Schedule the event with Tracylea Balmer (208) 459-5025
- Any student sponsored event will require the hiring of a student host
- The fee for a student host is $25. Music Department events may be
covered under student work study
Student Hosting Responsibilities
- Student hosting assignments for performances and events of or sponsored
by the Music Department will be made by Lisa Derry. Other student
host assignment will be made by Tracylea Balmer
- Training will be supervised by Lisa Derry and/or Seth Sengel and
will include lighting, sound production, recording, use of multimedia presentation
equipment, moving of acoustic shells, and curtain functions. Only trained
students will be asked to host events. The Student
Host Technical Manual is available online for reference.
- Check EMS through Tracylea Balmer or Evonne Earl for event setup one week in advance.
- Arrive at least forty-five minutes before the scheduled event or more
if setup determines that extra time will be needed. Set-up must be completed
in adequate time for the event to begin on time.
- Present yourself in a professional manner, dress appropriately and represent
the college responsibly.
- Call Campus Safety at 459-5151 to unlock doors. Campus Safety will help
if you need more heat in Jewett Auditorium.
- Stay throughout the event.
- At the conclusion of the performance, stay to ensure that the performance
hall, stage, backstage and audience seating area is returned to normal
and that equipment is returned.
- Turn off lights and call Campus Safety to lock doors. Stay until this
happens.
- The normal and usual fee for a student host for a sponsored event is
$25.
