Responsible Conduct of Research

Responsible Conduct of Research

The National Science Foundation  and the National Institutes of Health have established requirements for certification in Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR). In response to these guidelines The College of Idaho has established an RCR training plan based on two principles of research integrity: 1) risk-based assessment, minimizing risk via appropriate training and avoiding misconduct, and 2) adherence to professional standards of conduct.

The plan has two main components:

A. a detailed program for training undergraduate students including on-line modules, face-to-face discussions and mandatory monitoring of compliance by the College administration; and

B. a system to verify that such training has occurred.
