Department Goals
By completing out course of study leading to one of the three majors, a student will be able to:
- Understand the historical, psychological, and sociological aspects of Physical Activity and Sport in a changing environment
- Demonstrate a competence in human anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and business principles
- Understand the concept of human development through lifespan development
- Participate and perform a variety of skills using team, individual, and choice approaches
- Analyze exercise to modify and adapt exercise/sport to the individual
- Use critical and reflective approaches to assess wellness, activity, and sport participation
- Develop a personal exercise prescription
- Apply teaching practices to local school districts
- Monitor experiences of healthy choices through a diverse course selection of activity courses
