Jim Angresano
Jim Angresano (Ph. D., University of Tennessee) Professor, Comparative Economics, Economic Development, History of Economic Thought.
Dr. Angresano's expertise is in comparative economics. He is the author of French Welfare State Reform: Idealism Versus Swedish, Kiwi and Dutch Pragmatism (London: Anthem Press, 2007), and Comparative Economics (Upper Saddle River, NJ: Prentice Hall, 1996) and many articles in professional journals . He has also published in the area of history of economic thought, including The Political Economy of Gunnar Myrdal (Cheltenham, UK: Edward Elgar, 1997). His current research interests include welfare state reform, the adverse effects on the development of poor countries from international influences, especially the World Bank and USAID, and ecological economic issues in China.
Dr. Angresano was honored as the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching 2006 Idaho Professor of the Year.
He has been a Visiting Fellow at Oxford University and at the Hoover Institutution, a Fulbright Scholar (in Bulgaria), and a Senior Fulbright Specialist (in Egypt and China).
He has visited about 40 countries and taught and lectured throughout Europe as well as in China and Egypt. He joined the faculty of Albertson College of Idaho in 1995.
