Children of the Nations Internship Program

For eight weeks during the months of June, July and August COTN offers an intense internship program for students to serve in Africa or the Caribbean.

While the main focus of the internship is mentoring orphaned and destitute children in the COTN program, the internship is unique in that it also includes New Skills, where interns are given an opportunity to be fully immersed in another culture by assisting a family in day-to-day activities for living in that culture, and Personal Ministry, where interns are able to utilize their individual talents and passions to serve. Lastly, COTN Service offer interns a better understanding of the many facets of the ministry as a whole.

Rancho Agua Viva Summer Internship (Ensenada, Mexico)

Serve with our WINTER TERM ministry partners, Rancho Agua Viva as they: 

1) work with American partners (short term mission groups) to share the love of Christ to the people of Ensenada, 
2) train Mexican Christians to be pastors and missionaries, 
3) maintain a camping facility in Ensenada, Mexico where Mexican churches can attend retreats, seminars, and other life-changing events, and 
4) support missionaries throughout Mexico with the goal of planting churches in unreached areas of Mexico.

Interns assist RAV ministry to the people of Ensenada including supporting volunteer teams in their service activities (work projects, youth outreach, children’s ministry and more).  The internship is a tremendous opportunity to learn about missions, about serving in another culture, about God, and about yourself. RAV seeks students who are ready to risk and learn more about God’s global concerns for the world and about using their hands and feet for His cause. 

Cost:  Travel to Mexico (about $240 -- some C of I scholarship available)

Internship includes free room and board plus $50 weekly stipend

 Young Life Camp Summer Staff at Wildhorse Canyon, Oregon

Young Life brings the good news of Jesus Christ into the lives of adolescents with an approach that is respectful of who kids are and hopeful about who they can be.

Young Life camping involves high adventure, lots of fun, great food and excellent speakers who understand and respect high school and middle school kids.

Summer staff is a volunteer experience lasting 3-4 weeks. The summer staff serve the campers at Young Life camps in roles which require considerable maturity and non-verbal witness. Some of these positions are staffing the ropes course, climbing wall, mountain bikes and waterfront. Application due by January 1st. Young Life staff recommendation needed.

Cost:  travel to central Oregon (C of I will cover)

Summer English Camp                                                         

Haiti

Assist Heartline Ministries in offering a 6 week summer camp to children who need a little extra T.L.C. The purpose of the camp is to help teach children life-skills and educational studies that the kids don't receive in their Haitian schools. Volunteers will get to help teach Enlish, facilitate games and activities, and teach scripture in a setting that provides meals and stability for these kids. Also, participants will aid in coordinating other volunteer groups that come through to help at the camp.

Dates for 2010: June 21st thru August 13th (Volunteers arrive a week before camp starts and stay a week after it ends)

Lodging and meals will be provided by Heartline at $10/day.

Cost of travel to Haiti is $700-1200.

• Spring pre-trip training and discipling
• Earning an internship credit through CEL
