Coyotes sweep weekly Baseball awards

The College of Idaho swept the weekly baseball awards, as Brad Carlsen was named Player of the Week and Jake Bottari was named Pitcher of the Week, announced by the Cascade Conference this afternoon.

Carlsen, from Reno, Nev., who was also named NAIA Region I Player of the Week, had at least one hit in all six C of I games over the week, hitting .389 with three RBI.  He also scored four runs and had two stolen bases.

Bottari, from Wells, Nev., did not allow an earned run in three appearances during the week.  The junior worked a 1-2-3 ninth inning to pick up a save in a 7-5 win over Simpson, worked a scoreless inning in a 13-2 win over Simpson, then tossed three and a third innings of relief, striking out three batters in the Yotes 8-6 extra inning win over British Columbia.

The Coyotes take the weekend off, preparing for a three-game series at Lewis-Clark State, beginning next Tuesday.
