College of Idaho women's basketball coach Reagan Rossi announced today the signing of a pair of high school players to NAIA Letters of Intent as the initial recruits for the 2009-10 season.
Headed to play for the reigning Cascade Conference co-champions are Brette Rubie of Missoula, Mont., and Katelin Shannon of Caldwell, Idaho.
Rubie, a 5-7 wing, helped Missoula-Sentinel High to a sixth-place finish at the AA State Tournament this winter. She was honored as an All-Western AA and AA All-State selection following the season.
Shannon, a 5-4 guard, was a four-year member of the varsity team at Vallivue High, helping her squad to the 2006 4A state championship, the 2007 5A state semifinals, the 2008 5A state championship game, and a fourth-place finish in 2009. She was an All-Southern Idaho Conference selection and named to the All-SIC Academic Team.
The Lady Yote are coming off a school record-setting 29-5 season and a trip to the NAIA Division II National Tournament.
