Lady Yotes ranked #15 in NAIA Softball poll02.02.2010 The defending Cascade Conference champion College of Idaho softball team was ranked No. 15 in the preseason NAIA Top-25 Coaches Poll, released this afternoon by the national office in Kansas City, Mo. The Lady Yotes (34-18), who earlier this week were the unanimous pick to win their third CCC title in four years, are ranked in the preseason poll for the second time in program history – joining the 2008 squad that opened the year ranked No. 14, their highest positioning in the poll. The C of I, who has advanced to the NAIA Women’s World Series each of the past two seasons, returns All-America pitcher, Jody Zillner, along with All-CCC selections Amy Rhoades and Dani Villyard. Defending NAIA Champion, California Baptist, is the No. 1 team to start the year, followed by Dickinson State (N.D.), Oklahoma City, Point Loma Nazarene (Calif.), and Lubbock Christian (Texas). Two other CCC teams – Southern Oregon and Concordia, were mentioned in the Others Receiving Votes category. The Lady Yotes open up the 2010 season on Feb. 20 at the Northwest Cup in Portland.
