Third year with the Coyotes…had one of the top seasons in Albertson soccer history in 2001, scoring 21 goals and assisting on 14 more…the 21 goals is the third-highest single-season total in program history, and the 14 assists tied his own school-record, set in 2000…earned honorable mention NAIA All-America last season, and is a three-time All-Cascade Conference and All-Region I selection…recorded hat tricks in three consecutive games midway through last season, earning regional Player-of-the-Week honors… scored in 18-of-22 games in 2001, including a stretch of 15 straight…named to the NAIA All-America Scholar-Athlete and Verizon Academic All-America teams…scored nine goals and had 14 assists as a sophomore…scored seven goals and had six assists as a freshman at Northwest Nazarene…a 1999 graduate of Eastmont High, Michaelson was a two-time All-Big Nine selection…led his team in scoring and earned MVP honors both his junior and senior seasons…also played basketball and football as a prep…studying Spanish…president of the Albertson Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter…parents John and Kathy Michaelson…born Jan. 19, 1981.
