VOLLEYBALL (23-2, 15-0 CCC): No. 9 Coyotes look to clinch CCC title with win Friday night at Eastern Oregon

COMING UP: at Eastern Oregon, Friday, 7 p.m. (PT)

LAST WEEK: vs. Northwest Nazarene (W 3-0), vs. Northwest (W 3-0), vs. Evergreen State (W 3-0)

YOTES CLINCH PLAYOFF SPOT: With their victory over Corban on two weeks ago, the ACI volleyball team clinched a berth in the Cascade Conference postseason tournament for the eighth-consecutive season.  In doing so, the Lady Yotes have an opportunity to defend their 2005 CCC postseason tournament crown.

HOSTING THE PLAYOFFS?: The Coyotes hold a two and a half game lead on second-place Southern Oregon – holding all tiebreakers with the Raiders due to a home-and-home sweep by the Yotes.  The winner of the CCC regular season title earns the right to host the CCC postseason tournament, to be held Nov. 10-11, and the right to host the NAIA Region I tournament, to be held Nov. 16-18.  ACI has never won a regular-season CCC title since the league went to the current round-robin format in 1988.

STREAKS GALORE FOR THE YOTES: Impressive numbers dot the landscape of the 2006 volleyball season for ACI, as the Lady Yotes have multiple streaks still alive.  The squad has dropped their first game in CCC play at Southern Oregon on Sept. 8, and have now won their past 39 in a row (won 45-of-46 games played in league play this year).  ACI has won 18-consecutive matches at home, dating back to last season, and has won 35-consecutive matches against teams not ranked in the NAIA poll (or others’ receiving votes).  The home win streak ties a mark the squad accomplished from midway through the 2003 season to the start of last year.

NATIONAL RANKING: The Yotes were ranked No. 9 in the eighth NAIA volleyball poll of the regular-season, released today by the national office in Olathe, Kan.  The Yotes remained at No. 9 for the second-straight week, equaling the highest ranking in program history. Six others – No. 1 National American (S.D.), No. 6 Columbia (Mo.), No. 22 Westminster, No. 24 Cedarville (Ohio), Lindenwood (Mo.), and Southern Oregon were among the ACI opponents this season in the Top-25 and others receiving votes.  The Top-13 teams in the nation remained intact, except for No. 3 Concordia (Calif.) flip-flopping with No. 4 Cal Baptist.

PREVIOUS RANKINGS: The Coyotes have been ranked in the Top-25 on 14 occasions in program history – the second (No. 24) and third (No. 19) polls of the 1997 season, the preseason (No. 15) and first poll (No. 19) of the 2001 season, the final poll during the 2005 season (No. 24), the 2006 preseason poll (No. 16), and the eight rankings this year.

YOTES MAINTAIN PERCH ATOP REGIONAL RANKINGS: With a perfect 15-0 start to the Cascade Conference season and a 23-2 overall record, the Yotes remain atop the NAIA Region I weekly Top-10 poll.  ACI is followed by Westminster, Southern Oregon, Great Falls, and Oregon Tech, which climbed into the top-five, strengthening the CCC’s chances of receiving three teams in the regional tournament..  Rounding out the top-ten are Carroll, Rocky Mountain, Northwest, Montana Tech, and Concordia.  The regional poll is released each Monday, with the NAIA poll released each Wednesday afternoon.

MENDIOLA ADDS TO HER WINS RECORD: With the Lady Yotes victory over Cedarville (Ohio) on Sept. 23, ACI volleyball coach Liz Mendiola became the all-time winningest volleyball coach in program history.  While at ACI, Mendiola has posted a 124-54 record (.697 win percentage) - six-straight Cascade Conference tournament appearances, three NAIA Region I tournament appearances, along with a trip to the 2005 NAIA Championships.

HOME SWEET HOME: Under Mendiola, the Lady Yotes are 59-12 in the J.A. Albertson Activities Center, an .831 winning percentage.  They are even better in CCC play, holding a 45-8 mark (.849 percent) since the 2001 season.

BEST START EVER: The 23-2 start by the Lady Yotes is the best in program history, dating back to the 1982 season.  In recent years, the 1997 and 2005 teams opened the season with 7-3 marks (best ten-game mark), while the 2005 squad opened with a 12-3 (best 15-game mark), 16-4 (best 20-game mark), and 20-5 (best 25-game mark) start to a season.  ACI is also a perfect 8-0 on the road this year (not including neutral court matches).

CHERRINGTON SETS RECORD, NABS AWARD: With an assist late in Game 1 vs. Northwest Nazarene last Tuesday, Erin Cherrington (Granby, Colo. / Middle Park HS) became the all-time ACI leader in assists, passing Keri Farrington on the list.  The senior now has 4,644 assists in her four-year career and also became the eighth player in ACI history to reach 1,000 digs with a bump in Game 3 Saturday vs. Evergreen State.  Cherrington also nabbed her fifth-consecutive Cascade Conference Setter of the Week award, the 15th time in her four year career that she has earned the accolade.

DOMINATING THE LEAGUE NUMBERS: As a team, the Yotes dominate the Cascade Conference statistics, leading the loop in hitting percentage (.255), assists per game (14.74), kills per game (15.74), blocks per game (3.15), and aces per game (2.44).  Individually, Katie Hogue (Sparks, Nev. / Reed HS) leads the league in blocks per game (1.53), while ranking second in hitting percentage (.385), fifth in aces per game (0.47), and sixth in kills per game (3.39).  Erin Cherrington leads the league in assists per game (13.68) and is seventh in aces per game (0.47), while Kristin Henning is second in blocks per game (1.28) and is third in hitting percentage (.328).  Anne Parker (Pocatello, Idaho / Century HS) is fourth in blocks per game (1.10) and is fifth in hitting percentage (.281), with Kathryn Ely (La Grande, Ore. / La Grande HS) ranking fifth in kills per game (3.57) and eighth in hitting percentage (.234).  Rounding out the group is Catherine Everist (Portland, Ore. / Chicago State U.), who is No. 3 in digs per game (6.29).

YOTES LEAD NAIA IN ASSISTS AND KILLS, CHERRINGTON LEADS ALL NAIA PLAYERS: As a team, ACI leads the entire NAIA in assists per game and kills per game – while ranking No. 5 in blocks per game and No. 11 in hitting percentage.  Erin Cherrington continues to lead the nation in assists per game, while Katie Hogue ranks No. 8 in the NAIA in blocks per game and is No. 10 in hitting percentage.

RECORD BOOK: It has already happen, but it is inevitable that the ACI record books will continue to be rewritten.  Currently, four players are already among the all-time top-ten.  Katie Hogue ranks No. 3 all-time with 372 blocks, No. 7 with 878 kills, and No. 9 with 106 aces.  Erin Cherrington holds the all-time record with 4,644 assists, is third with 176 aces, is No. 5 in games played (415), and is No. 7 with 1,000 digs.  Also on the list are Tiffany Sower, who is fifth all-time with 130 aces, and Anne Parker, who is sixth in blocks with 263.

YOTES HEAD TO EASTERN, LOOKING TO HOIST BANNER: Friday night, ACI heads to La Grande to meet rival Eastern Oregon, hoping for a victory over one of the hotter teams in the loop.  With a victory over the Mountaineers (8-13, 7-8 CCC), the Lady Yotes would clinch the CCC regular-season championship for the first-time ever, and notch their 24th-straight win over EOU.  It won’t be easy, as Eastern has won three straight matches and 5-of-7, and holds an 6-3 mark this season in Quinn Coliseum.  Kaki McLean’s bunch is led by Chelsea Lally, Grace Deboot, and Jana Brotherton, who each averaged just under three kills per game, with libero Kiley Cobb (3.92 d/g) having won two Cascade Conference libero of the week honors.  The Yotes made short work of the Mounties in Caldwell, topping Eastern 30-12, 30-19, 30-19 – running the all-time series lead to 52-20.

LAST WEEK’S RECAP: Last Tuesday, ACI toppled Northwest Nazarene 30-18, 30-16, 32-30, in the Battle of Canyon County at the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.

The Coyotes rode a big front line to the tune of 15.5 team blocks in the win.  ACI jumped out to a 5-1 lead in Game 1, thanks to four NNU errors.  The NCAA Division II Crusaders cut the margin to 15-14 on a Jocelyn Judd aces, but ACI would use a 12-1 push, including four Catherine Everist aces to win the game.  Everist again helped the Coyotes dominate Game 2, using a 9-0 run on her serve midway through the set for the win.  Game 3 looked to be the Crusaders, as they got four Lindsey Forseth kills and three blocks from Chelsea Lewis to take a commanding 26-19 edge.  However, the Yotes went on a 9-1 push, including three Sarah Buhler (Middleton, Idaho / Middleton HS) spikes to take the lead.  After both teams squandered game point, ACI went to Anne Parker, whose kill sealed their fifth-straight win over NNU.  Parker had a monster night for the Lady Yotes, recording 11 kills and six blocks, with Kathryn Ely added 12 kills.  Everist had 14 digs and five aces in the win.   Friday night, the Yotes stopped Northwest University 30-14, 30-10, 30-23 victory in 64 minutes.  Fifteen different Coyotes saw action in the match, with Ely leading the way with nine kills.  Kristen Henning added eight kills and four blocks, with Katie Zillner (Emmett, Idaho / Emmett HS) recording eight kills.  Everist had a game-high 23 digs, with Cherrington recording 31 assists in two games.  Zillner led the way with 14 kills as the Lady Yotes won their tenth match in a row with a 30-18, 30-12, 30-15 victory over Evergreen State Saturday night in the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.  The win for ACI,  the No. 9 ranked team in the NAIA, lowered their magic number to one to clinch the CCC regular-season title and host berth for the CCC and NAIA Region I postseason tournaments.  The Yotes also tied a school-record with their 18th-straight home win and recorded their 35th-straight win over a non-ranked team.  Senior Aubrey Nielsen (Twin Falls, Idaho / Walla Walla CC) recorded a season-high eight kills in the win, with Everist recording 17 digs.

MEN’S SOCCER (10-5-1, 8-2 CCC): Yotes clinch Regional Berth, look for CCC title this weekend in Portland

COMING UP: at Cascade, Friday, 2:30 p.m. (PT); at Concordia, Saturday, 2 p.m. (PT)

LAST WEEK: vs. Corban (W 4-1), vs. Warner Pacific (W 1-0)

COYOTES SECURE PLAYOFF BERTH: With a victory over Warner Pacific on Saturday afternoon, the Albertson College of Idaho men’s soccer team clinched a spot in the four-team NAIA Region I Tournament, scheduled for Nov. 3-4 at the top independent (either Simon Fraser or Westminster) in the region.  It marks the first playoff appearance by the Yotes under third-year head coach Brian Smith.  The top-two teams in the Cascade Conference regular-season standings, along with the independent team with the highest Longo average earn automatic berths.  The fourth and final berth is determined by the highest Longo average among the remaining teams.

PLAYOFF HISTORY: The 2006 season will mark the 11th time in the 23-year history of the men’s soccer program that the Coyotes have advanced to the postseason and will be their tenth trip to either the District or Regional playoffs.  ACI has won two regional titles, taking the 1989 championship after Warner Pacific forfeited the title, along with the 2001 championship – advancing to their lone NAIA National Tournament.

REGIONAL RANKINGS: The eighth NAIA Region I weekly top-five poll of the season saw the Yotes remain in the No. 1 spot for the second-straight week.  Right at the Coyotes heals is Concordia, followed by Westminster, Warner Pacific, and Simon Fraser.  No NAIA Region I team was ranked in last week’s NAIA Top-25 poll.

THE LAST TIME: Prior to this season, the last time the ACI men’s soccer team was ranked No. 1 in the Region I poll was September of 2002 – when the Coyotes began the season No. 1 in the region and remained their for the first polling period.  The Yotes have been ranked in the NAIA poll on five different occasions – finishing the 2000 season No. 25, finishing the 2001 season at No. 23, earning a No. 16 ranking in the 2002 preseason poll, a No. 15 ranking in the first poll of the 2002 season, with their last time in the poll on Oct. 9, 2002 – at No. 24.

ANOTHER TEN WIN SEASON: The Yotes notched their tenth win of the season against Warner Pacific on Saturday, the seventh time in the last eight seasons that the Yotes got to double digits in the victory column.  ACI has had ten or more wins in 13 of the 23 years of sponsoring men’s soccer.

WIN STREAK: The current seven game win streak by the Yotes is their longest since they set a school record with an 11-game win streak during the 2001 season.

WHITE NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK: the second-consecutive week, Albertson College forward Mitch White (Boise, Idaho / Gonzaga U.) was named Cascade Conference and NAIA Region I Player of the Week, as announced by Region I Information Director, Sam Ghrist.  The senior helped the Coyotes extend their win streak to seven with home victories over Corban and Warner Pacific.  Against Corban, White assisted on a goal, while he notched his fourth game-winning goal of the year against WP.  White currently leads the CCC with 12 goals, helping ACI clinch a spot in the four-team NAIA Region I Tournament, set for Nov. 3-4 in either Salt Lake City or Burnaby, B.C.

YOTES SWEEP CORBAN FOR FIRST TIME SINCE 2001: Four goals in the first 25 minutes of play gave the Coyotes all the cushion they would need, as ACI completed a season sweep of Corban College, topping the Warriors, 4-1, Friday afternoon at Symms Field.  It was the first time that the Yotes had swept the season series from the Warriors since 2001.  Derek Erstad (Boise, Idaho / Timberline HS) got the Coyotes on the board in the 11th minute blasting home a shot off a Cameron Johnson (Boise, Idaho / Treasure Valley CC) touch.  A minute later, Kazuki Murata (Tokyo, Japan / Ichiritu HS) took a corner kick from the left side and bent the ball in the net for a 2-0 lead.  In the 19th minute, Johnson took a through-ball from Mitch White   - off a chip from Brandon Koomler (Boise, Idaho / Bishop Kelly HS), and beat keeper Aaron Franklin for the goal.  ACI capped the barrage in the 25th minute as Brandon Eddy (Sandpoint, Idaho / Sandpoint HS) followed a Jesus Lopez (Nampa, Idaho / Skyview HS) shot off the right post with a flick into the open net.

WHITE WINS IT FOR COYOTES: Mitch White hammered home a goal with nine minutes remaining, as the Coyotes extended their winning streak to seven games with a 1-0 victory over Warner Pacific Saturday afternoon at Symms Field.  Despite holding a 9-2 edge in shots on goal, ACI could not crack Knights keeper Brandon Mitalis until White created some space at the top of the 18, split two defenders, and cracked a shot in the top left corner of the net.  Keeper Jay Gentle (Boise, Idaho / Walla Walla CC) stopped two shots to record his fourth shutout of the season and improved to 8-0 when starting in net.

OFF TO PORTLAND TO END THE REGULAR-SEASON: The Yotes close out their regular-season this weekend in Portland – needing one win to secure at least a share of the Cascade Conference regular-season championship.  Friday, ACI is at Cascade, who has a 6-1 record this season on their home pitch.  The T-Birds (10-7, 4-7 CCC) are the surprise of the league in 2006, thanks to the play of a quartet of heavy scorers – Gerardo Cifuentes (6 goals, 8 assists), Mark Towers (8 goals, 3 assists), Adalberto Angulo (7 goals, 3 assists), and Kevin Youatt (5 goals, 6 assists).  The Yotes extended their win streak to nine against Cascade with a 1-0 victory in Caldwell earlier this month, and hold a 24-4 all-time series lead.  Saturday, its rival Concordia hosting the Purple and Gold – looking to avenge a 1-0 loss to ACI in Caldwell.  The Cavaliers (10-5-2, 8-3) are rolling at the right time, having won four-straight since their setback in Idaho, thanks to the play of Mirzet Sacirovic (12 goals, 2 assists) and Rigo Rivas (5 goals, 4 assists).  CU has won the last four CCC regular-season titles, but ACI holds the all-time series edge, 20-16-1.

ANOTHER CONFERENCE TITLE?: The Coyotes have only one Cascade Conference regular-season championship in their hands – which occurred in 2001.  ACI has won the CCC postseason tournament on two occasions – in 2000 and 2003.

MORE INFORMATION: Updated information and statistics on the 2006 men’s soccer team can be found on Albertson men’s soccer official website at www.collegeofidaho.edu/athlete/menssoccer.htm.  Up-to-date Cascade Conference standings can be found online at www.collegeofidaho.edu/athlete/msoccer/stats/standings.htm.

CROSS COUNTRY: Coyote men take second at L-C Invite, four ladies break 20-minute barrier

COMING UP: Idle, next at Cascade Conference / NAIA Region I Championships, Nov. 4, La Grande, Ore.

LAST WEEK: at Lewis-Clark State Open (Men - second, Women - fifth)

COYOTE MEN MAKE STATEMENT, PART 3: The Albertson College men's cross country team has thrived in the underdog role all season - despite defeating Lewis-Clark State (at the Hampton Inn Classic) and Concordia (at the Eastern Oregon Open) this season, and remaining to be ranked below them in the NAIA poll.  Last Saturday, the Yotes defeated Lewis-Clark State again, this time on their home course, at Hells Gate State Park.  ACI was well behind L-C, along with Eastern Oregon, at the four-mile mark of the race, however, the Yotes closed at the end - picking off runner after runner.  "It was pretty awesome," said head coach Pat McCurry.  "I was nervous midway through the race, but we executed our plan exactly how I wanted it to work."  Both Tyler Hopper (Caldwell, Idaho / Caldwell HS) and Jesse Chlebeck (Eagan, Minn. / Eagan HS) placed in the Top-5, while both Sam Hardy (Eagle, Idaho / Eagle HS) and Geoff Williams (Boise, Idaho / Boise HS) had Top-20 finishes.

WHERE THE YOTES WILL MOVE IN THE POLL: The Yotes should move up from their No. 18 perch in the NAIA national poll after their performance last weekend - part of a big logjam that is the NAIA Region I.  "The men are among a group of eight teams (Concordia, LC-State, Southern Oregon, British Columbia, Simon Fraser, Corban, Eastern Oregon, and ACI) that have a realistic chance in winning the regional meet," said McCurry.  ACI has been a part of the last 14 NAIA national polls, dating back to the start of the 2005 season.

WOMEN HAVE GREAT MEET: A fifth-place finish at the L-C State Open does not tell the job the Lady Yote runners did - as four women ran under the 20-minute mark, a program first.  Leading the group was Molli Lee-Painter (Moscow, Idaho / Moscow HS), who ran a personal-best 5,000-meters in 19:09, finishing 15th.  Also cracking the barrier were Lauren Plymire (Beaverton, Ore. / Eastern Oregon U.), Chantel Varland (Meridian, Idaho / Mountain View HS), and Genny Gerke (Boise, Idaho / Bishop Kelly HS).

WEEK OF TRAINING: The Yotes will take this weekend off from competition, preparing for the CCC/NAIA Region I Championships in La Grande.

FOR MORE INFORMATION: For more information on the ACI cross country team, head to www.collegeofidaho.edu/athlete/xc.htm, the official homepage of the Yotes.

SWIMMING: Two relays, one individual qualify for NAIA Championships at season opening dual meet

COMING UP: Idle until Nov. 4 at Whitman College

LAST WEEK: short course dual at Puget Sound (Men lose 141-39, Women lose 168-25)

ONE MEET DOWN, THREE QUALIFY FOR NATIONALS: The ACI swim team opened up their third season of intercollegiate competition last Saturday at the University of Puget Sound, and despite losing the two duals by a lopsided margin, the Yotes did have their moments.  Both the men's and women's 200-freestyle relay teams met the NAIA Championships provisional standards - in October.  Also earning an individual spot at Nationals was Alphonsina Savell (Caldwell, Idaho / Caldwell HS), who took second in the 100-breaststroke in 1:22.08.  The men's relay team of Jeremy Younggren (Island City, Ore. / La Grande HS), Scott Mikelonis (Boise, Idaho / Boise HS), Blake Bower (Boise, Idaho / Timberline HS), and John Green (Pleasanton, Calif. / Foothill HS) won their race in 1:45.12, two seconds under the provisional.  The women's relay of Elizabeth Peters (Woodburn, Ore. / Woodburn HS), Alicia Cabrera (Payette, Idaho / Payette HS), Christine Mabile (Couer d'Alene, Idaho / Couer d'Alene Charter HS), and Savell took third in 2:03.12 - which converted to yards, is a new school record of 1:50.34.

OTHER RECORDS BROKEN: Besides the women's freestyle relay, four other school records were broken at Wallace Pool in Tacoma, Wash.  True freshman Amber Evans (Meridian, Idaho / Bishop Kelly HS) notched two of them, setting marks in the 200-freestyle (2:26.41) and the 500-freestyle (6:46.15).  The women's 200-medley relay nearly qualified for nationals, setting a school record with their time of 2:03.38, while Jeremy Younggren set a new record in the 100-backstroke (1:01.72).

A WEEK OF REST: With ACI on its semester break, the Coyote swimmers will do the same, take a week off from competition, preparing for a second short-course dual Nov. 4 at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Wash.

FOR MORE INFORMATION: For more information on the ACI swim program, including results and top times, head to www.collegeofidaho.edu/athlete/swim.htm, the official homepage of the Coyotes.

WOMEN’S SOCCER (6-10-2): Season Recap

LAST WEEK: at Eastern Oregon (L 2-1), Cascade Conference postseason tournament quarterfinal at Evergreen State (L 2-1)

LADY YOTES FALL IN PLAYOFF GAME: Alice Dietz scored the game-winner in the 29th minute of action and The Evergreen State College defense held the margin, as the Geoducks eliminated the Albertson College of Idaho women's soccer team from the Cascade Conference postseason tournament with a 2-1 victory Saturday afternoon in Olympia, Wash.  The Lady Yotes, who were making just their fourth-ever postseason appearance and their first since 2002, tied the score at 1-1 in the 23rd minute on an Allie Dufault (Irvine, Calif. / University HS) unassisted goal.  However, Dietz would tally her tenth goal of the year five minutes later, slamming home a Jenine Adam cross.

PLAYOFF HISTORY: The playoff contest Saturday was the fourth time in school history that the Lady Yotes had competed in the posteason during the 18 years of the program.  The 1991 squad dropped an NAIA District semifinal game to Pacific, with the 1993 team losing to Willamette in the District semis.  The 2002 ACI team lost to Concordia in the semifinals of the Cascade Conference postseason tournament, with this years bunch losing in the CCC quarterfinals.  The Coyotes are still searching for that elusive first home playoff game and first playoff win.

THE REST OF THE PLAYOFFS: With Oregon Tech defeating Corban on Saturday via penalty kicks, Concordia will host OIT and Eastern Oregon hosting Evergreen State, both games on Wednesday.  The winners will square off to determine an automatic berth to the NAIA Region I Tournament.  If the regular-season champion (Concordia) wins the tourney, the regular-season runner-up (Eastern Oregon) will receive the second automatic berth to regionals.

EASTERN TOPS YOTES 2-1 IN REGULAR-SEASON FINALE:  Tennly Paul-Bowden scored off a Maguerite Driscoll free kick one minute before halftime, giving Eastern Oregon the cushion they needed, as the Mountaineers knocked off ACI, 2-1, in a Cascade Conference women's soccer match last Wednesday in La Grande, Ore.  The Yotes jumped on the board first, as Mandy Greif (Payette, Idaho / Payette HS) knocked home the ball in the ninth minute, off a Jayne Saunders (Emmett, Idaho / Emmett HS) feed.  However, the lead was short lived, as two minutes later, Tara Moran ripped home a free kick from just outside the penalty box to tie the score.  Amy Rhoades (Eagle, Idaho / Dixie State Coll.) made four saves on the afternoon, while two Eastern keepers combined to stop five Coyote shots.

LOOKING BACK, THE SEASON THAT WAS: Although the 2006 season ended on a down note – with the Lady Yotes going winless over their final five games, it was a remarkable season for ACI.  After opening the season with their first-ever victory over Whitman, the Coyotes would lose five matches in a row and tie their Cascade Conference opener with Northwest.  That is when the fortunes of the team would turn, as the Yotes would win five of their next six matches – including four shutouts, to vault to the top of the league standings.  Unfortunately for the squad, injuries would do the team in, as a bevy of bumps and bruises would limit the ACI attack during the final weeks of the season – ending the year in the CCC Tournament.

RECORDS BY THE WAYSIDE: The 2006 Lady Yotes tied a school record this season with six shutouts – equaling the mark established by the 1993 team.  They also ended a 17-match losing streak against Corban College, topping the Warriors for the first time since the 1995 season.

LOOKING AHEAD: The playoff game was the final collegiate contest for a pair of Lady Yotes – seniors Allison Rupert (Boise, Idaho / Capital HS) and Ali Jakubowski (Caldwell, Idaho / Caldwell HS).  However, ACI will return a total of 12 players who started at least five matches this season and will boast just five seniors on the 2007 team.
