Former College of Idaho All-American Izaac Garsez returned to the Treasure Valley today, as the Chicago Cubs' farmhand was assigned to the Boise Hawks from the rookie-level Mesa Cubs.

The two-time NAIA All-American, drafted in the 30th Round of the 2012 MLB First Year Players Draft, batted .273 with a homer, three triples, four stolen bases, and eight RBI in the Arizona Rookie League, before his promotion to Boise.

Garsez, who went 0-for-4 in his debut, is the second former C of I player to play for the Hawks - as Bill Oliver spent the entire 1998 season with the Northwest League club.
