C of I, ISU partner to educate more PAs

The College of Idaho and Idaho State University will address the growing need for primary health providers in Idaho and the nation by educating more physician assistants beginning in fall 2014.

At a news conference today, leaders from both institutions signed an agreement to expand ISU’s two-year Master of Physician Assistant Studies Program  to a third campus at The College of Idaho in Caldwell. ISU's MPAS Program, which began in 1995, has graduated 16 classes and 508 physician assistants.

College of Idaho student and Parma native Laura Barbour spent most of her summer gaining valuable research experience through an REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) funded by the National Science Foundation. And the view wasn’t bad, either.

C of I named to Princeton Review’s ‘Best 377 Colleges’

The College of Idaho today was named one of the nation’s top schools by The Princeton Review in the 2013 edition of its book, "The Best 377 Colleges." The C of I for several years has been an annual inclusion in the book, which includes detailed profiles of the colleges with rating scores in eight categories based on surveys of students attending the profiled schools.

Orma J. Smith Museum readies for annual Bug Day

The College of Idaho’s Orma J. Smith Museum of Natural History is set for Bug Day, the annual celebration of insects that is one of the museum’s signature events. Bug Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at the Idaho Botanical Garden in Boise. Admission is $8 for adults and $4 for children and IBG members.

C of I prepares for full accreditation visit

The College of Idaho seeks comments from the public in preparation for a periodic evaluation by its regional accrediting agency.

The College will undergo a comprehensive evaluation visit October 10-12, 2012, by a team representing the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, the regional authority on educational quality and effectiveness for higher education institutions in the Northwestern United States. The College of Idaho has been accredited at the baccalaureate level since 1922. The College had its last full accreditation visit in 2002.

C of I releases summer issue of ‘Quest’ magazine

The College of Idaho has published its summer 2012 edition of Quest magazine. The issue, themed “Athletics,” celebrates the more than 100-year tradition of Coyote student-athletes excelling both on the field of competition and in the classroom. The magazine hit mailboxes in late July/early August and also is available online at www.collegeofidaho.edu/quest.
