The College of Idaho’s Orma J. Smith Museum of Natural History is partnering with Boise Art Museum to exhibit a collection of artifacts – many of which have never been seen by the public – as part of a new, year-long exhibition at BAM. The exhibit “Origins: Material Objects of Culture” opens Feb. 23 and will run through Jan. 12, 2014 at BAM, located at the entrance of Julia Davis Park in Downtown Boise.

The College of Idaho’s Whittenberger Planetarium is exploring the planets Mercury and Mars this month. Come learn about these alien worlds and see the latest findings and images captured by NASA spacecraft during recent voyages during the February public show, set for 7 p.m. Feb. 20 inside Boone Science Hall on the C of I campus in Caldwell. The show also will include a quick tour of the constellations and planets visible in the Idaho night sky this month.   

What do you get when you throw together seven C of I alumni, a stage and endless creativity? A zoo…a Green Zoo that is. Recent graduates Thomas Newby ’11, Mike Ward ’11, Anthony Parry ’12, Jeff Young ’12, Fred Loucks ’12, Kylie Jones ’12 and Ricardo Osuna ’12 have taken their College of Idaho experience in the arts to the next level with a venture into the business world. Combining their passions for theatre and music, this young and talented group has established a limited liability company under a unique title: The Green Zoo Arts Collective.

The College of Idaho will host a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) completion event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23 in Covell Hall on the C of I campus in Caldwell. Financial aid and admission staff from the College will be on hand to answer questions and assist students and their families in filling out their FAFSA paperwork. All students are welcome to attend the event, free of charge, regardless of where they plan to attend college. Returning C of I students also are welcome to receive assistance with the filing process.
