The College of Idaho is proud to showcase Kate Leadbetter ’10 and Molly Leadbetter ’11 as they take on the adventure of starting their own hard cider brewery, Leadbetter Cider Co.
The Leadbetters, in conjunction with their parents Ann and Gig, will be one of the first two hard ciderys in Idaho.
“Cider is becoming more and more popular throughout the United States and it’s a great alternative to beer and wine,” Molly said.
They’ve started a kickstarter project to raise money to buy a carbonation tank, a filtration tank and a pasteurizer and hope to be producing hard cider later this spring. As of now, the cidery will offer five different varieties: Strong Arm Semi-Sweet, Sidewinder Semi-Dry, Ginger Root, Hop Shot (Hopped Cider), and Trailhead Cherry.
