C of I offers discounted summer classes

This summer, students across the Gem State and beyond will have an opportunity to study at Idaho’s top college at a discounted rate.

The College of Idaho is offering ten for-credit courses during the summer term, which runs from May 31 through July 29. The classes, which are open to both current and non-C of I students, are being offered at a reduced price of $360 per credit. Students who aren’t enrolled at the College—including high school seniors—only need to complete a one-page application to enroll in a summer class.

“We are excited to offer summer classes to both new and current students,” said Dr. John Ottenhoff, vice president for academic affairs and dean of the faculty. “It’s a great opportunity for new students to take C of I-quality classes. It also helps our students stay on track to graduate in four years, which is something the College does better than any school in Idaho.”

This year’s course offerings include a mix of in-person, online and hybrid learning classes. More online components are being added to help students who move home for the summer, or students from outside the Treasure Valley who have an interest in C of I summer classes. The online courses are a new development for the C of I, but they will maintain the highly interactive, academically rigorous approach to education for which the College is known, Ottenhoff said.

Classes being offered include:

-          ART-121 Book Arts and Papermaking

-          BUS-299T Doing Business in Latin America

-          PSY-100 General Psychology

-          PSY-101 Introduction to Psychological Science

-          PSY-201 Introduction to Developmental Psychology

-          PSY-202 Introduction to Biological Psychology

-          PSY-206 Social Psychology

-          PSY-407 Introduction to Forensic Psychology

-          SOS-330 Criminology and Deviance
