The College of Idaho raises $6.5 million in 2012-2013

Alumni, friends and supporters have answered the call again for The College of Idaho, which marked another record-breaking year of fundraising during the recently concluded 2012-2013 fiscal year. Overall giving increased 22 percent to $6.5 million and a new record was set for the number of alumni making gifts to the College in a given year. 

Gift honors former C of I football coach Bonaminio

A $100,000 gift supporting construction of The College of Idaho’s Athletics and Outdoor Education Center will honor former Coyote football coach and player Ed “Buzz” Bonaminio.

The head football coach’s office in the new facility will be named in honor of Bonaminio, who served as head coach of the College’s football team from 1965 through 1971. Bonaminio also played halfback for the Coyotes and graduated from the C of I in 1956. He received the College’s Alumni Service Award in 2002.

Coyote Reunion set for June 27-29 on campus

Football is officially back at The College of Idaho, and it’s time to celebrate! All C of I alumni and friends – including former football players and student-athletes from all Coyote teams – are invited to join us June 27-29 as the College hosts the Coyote Reunion celebrating the return of football as well as the soon-to-be-built Athletics and Outdoor Education Center.

C of I professor receives Idaho’s top literary award

College of Idaho professor and alumna Diane Raptosh has won her second major literary award of the year with the announcement by the Idaho Commission on the Arts that she will serve as the state’s Writer in Residence.

C of I alumnus Bundgard named CEO of Influence

College of Idaho alumnus Tim Bundgard ’72 has been named a 2013 CEO of Influence by the Idaho Business Review. Bundgard, the President and CEO of Pioneer Title Company in Boise, and his fellow award winners will be honored during a May 9 ceremony at the downtown Boise Centre on the Grove. C of I publishes spring 2013 issue of ‘Quest’ magazine

The spring 2013 issue of The College of Idaho’s “Quest” magazine is in mailboxes now! The issue has a theme of “Scholarship,” honoring the College’s long-standing tradition of academic excellence and the many scholarly accomplishments of C of I students, faculty and alumni.

Alumna wins prestigious fellowship in Germany

Yordanos Refu of Boise, a 2012 graduate of The College of Idaho, has been selected to participate in the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals (CBYX), a year-long, federally-funded fellowship for study and work in Germany.

Refu, who earned her bachelor’s degree in international political economy at the C of I, was selected as one of 75 participants (from more than 600 applicants) for this unique fellowship program. 

Alumni establish The Green Zoo Arts Collective

What do you get when you throw together seven C of I alumni, a stage and endless creativity? A zoo…a Green Zoo that is. Recent graduates Thomas Newby ’11, Mike Ward ’11, Anthony Parry ’12, Jeff Young ’12, Fred Loucks ’12, Kylie Jones ’12 and Ricardo Osuna ’12 have taken their College of Idaho experience in the arts to the next level with a venture into the business world. Combining their passions for theatre and music, this young and talented group has established a limited liability company under a unique title: The Green Zoo Arts Collective.

Students step into robes of Supreme Court judges

Three of the most important cases currently before the United States Supreme Court – dealing with gay marriage, obtaining blood samples from suspected drunk drivers and legal suits against the government – will be argued by Treasure Valley attorneys before a mock court of College of Idaho students next week.
