The College of Idaho has a tradition of winning, with 23 athletic national championships since 2011. But success in competition isn’t limited to C of I student-athletes. Recently, College of Idaho sophomores Levi Orr and Hunter Brodt took first place in their respective categories at the Idaho Business Professionals of America state leadership conference.
The victory was gratifying for Orr, who is the Idaho state BPA post-secondary president, and for Brodt, who was competing in his first BPA competition.
The College of Idaho and Idaho State University will address the growing need for primary health providers in Idaho and the nation by educating more physician assistants beginning in fall 2014.
At a news conference today, leaders from both institutions signed an agreement to expand ISU’s two-year Master of Physician Assistant Studies Program to a third campus at The College of Idaho in Caldwell. ISU's MPAS Program, which began in 1995, has graduated 16 classes and 508 physician assistants.
College of Idaho senior Kevin Xu is a double major in finance and mathematics. Xu will graduate in May, but he already is using his financial training from the C of I to help another of his passions: the environment.
College of Idaho senior Justus Jenkins recently was sworn in and signed a five-year contract with the United States Navy after being accepted as a Nuclear Propulsion Officer Candidate (NUPOC) in Washington, D.C. Jenkins, a mathematics and physics major from Hawaii, currently is on active duty, and he plans to begin his officer training after graduation next December.
