The College of Idaho cracked national rankings with two more publications recently, ranking in the top 30 for value by College Factual and ranking in the top 100 overall for liberal arts colleges by Stacker.
Sara Heggland and Luke Daniels both received new grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) totaling more than $270,000 to expand the College’s research opportunities.
The club already gathers and distributes casual clothes to students on campus for free, but now the two are collaborating to provide something that meshes well with the College’s goal of blurring the lines between college and career by allowing students to “check out” proper attire for job or internship interviews.
To give some context to the gravity of this recognition, Region 5 consists of colleges from Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah and the Canadian provinces of Alberta and British Columbia. Nearly every institution of Higher Education in the region is a member of NASPA, meaning deans from hundreds of schools in the region were eligible for this award, and Dean Bennion was the sole winner in the region.
On my 100th birthday, 8/28/19, I had intended to express my deep gratitude to the C of I for what it contributed to my life and my career, but I failed to do so. Better late than never.
The annals of time are likely to mark the recent period as the world before COVID-19 and the world after COVID-19. The pandemic has touched virtually every aspect of life on the planet in some way. And the way the narrative has played out so far, days feel like weeks and weeks feel like years.
The debates themselves take place on a platform called Yaatly, which was designed specifically for speech and debate. That lessens the impact on the event itself, but not what occurs outside of the speeches.
