Both students have learned about pandemics in the classroom. But it’s different experiencing one while on the job. Thurston and Young have been assisting in testing patients with symptoms, and they suit up with personal protective equipment, commonly referred to as PPE.
According to recent data released by the College, the current student body contains students from Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Paraguay, and Venezuela. Eight of those countries celebrate their national independence days during Latinx Heritage Month.
The dorm with the blue trim is named Sawtooth, after the iconic Idaho mountain range. Owyhee is named after the Owyhee range that frames the College’s southern skyline.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the College welcomed 311 new students this fall, which marks the fourth consecutive year that number has been above 300.
The College of Idaho has scored well in the past with The Princeton Review, routinely receiving recognition from the publication. The College received praise for its rigorous academics, strong faculty, active student life, and strong financial aid.
