The College of Idaho has published its spring 2014 issue of Quest magazine, which hits mailboxes this week. The issue has a theme of “Success,” honoring the many C of I students, alumni, faculty and staff who have enjoyed tremendous achievements in the classroom, on the athletic field, in their careers and in life during the 123-year history of the College.

C of I readies for annual Student Research Conference

The College of Idaho will celebrate undergraduate research and creative work during its ninth annual Student Research Conference, set for Saturday, April 26, on the C of I campus in Caldwell.

The College of Idaho to offer summer courses

The College of Idaho will begin offering summer courses this year, providing additional opportunities for current and new students to take classes in subjects such as politics, psychology and Spanish.

C of I alumnus to study African wildlife with NSF Fellowship

Travis Guy first fell in love with ecological research as an undergraduate biology major at The College of Idaho. Today, Guy is continuing to pursue his passion thanks to a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship that will support his research for the next three years.

C of I football program unveils helmet design

The College of Idaho football program today offered the first glimpse of what its players will wear on the field when the Coyotes return to the gridiron this fall.

The Coyotes will sport gold helmets with a purple C of I logo on the sides, head coach Mike Moroski announced following the team’s spring showcase on campus. The final design was decided by a vote amongst C of I students, alumni, faculty and staff.

C of I launches online College Store presence

The College of Idaho has launched an online presence for its College Store, giving alumni, parents, the campus community and the public an opportunity to shop for and purchase C of I apparel and gifts from the comfort of their homes.

C of I theatre presents ‘A Lie of the Mind’

The College of Idaho Theatre Department is pleased to announce its spring main stage production, the Sam Shepard drama 'A Lie of the Mind.' The play shows at 7:30 nightly April 17-19 and 23-26 inside Langroise Studio Theatre on the C of I campus in Caldwell, with a 2 p.m. closing matinee on April 27. Davis Scholar presents at Clinton Global Initiative

Making the world a better place is not an easy task to accomplish. But for College of Idaho sophomore and Davis Scholar Keneuoe “Kenny” Mphutlane, the opportunity to help others was as simple as giving the shirt off her back.

“I learned about the Rwandan genocide in international politics [class] and what impact it had on women,” said Mphutlane, an international political economy major from Lesotho, Africa. “I then thought it would be best to think of a project that did not just involve giving a handout but instead one that would help young women acquire a skill.”

C of I Planetarium to host April public show

The majestic and mysterious gas giants will be the topic of discussion when The College of Idaho’s Whittenberger Planetarium hosts its April public show at 7 p.m. Friday, April 11, inside Boone Science Hall on the C of I campus in Caldwell. Find out what makes these giant planets unique – and how you can find them in the sky – during the first of two public shows on gas giants. The show, which costs $4 for adults or $2 for children ages 4-17, also will include an overview of the current and upcoming constellations and planets visible in the Idaho night sky.

C of I student wins Goldwater Scholarship

College of Idaho student Dannen Wright is a 2014 recipient of the Goldwater Scholarship, the most prestigious award available to American undergraduates studying the sciences.
