Nina Hirner placed fourth overall to lead The College of Idaho women's alpine ski team to a second-place finish in the first of two weekend Northwest Collegiate Ski Conference qualifiers at Mount Spokane Ski and Snowboard Park.

Yote Notes - Edition 4

COMING UP: at NWCSC Qualifier #3 (Giant Slalom), Mount Spokane Ski Park, Saturday-Sunday.

LAST WEEK: at NWCSC Qualifier #1 – Snoqualmie Pass-Alpental (Saturday – Men 3rd, Women 4th; Sunday – Rained Out)

Sunday Races at Alpental Rained Out

Today's Northwest Collegiate Ski Conference slalom qualifiers at Snoqualmie Summit-Alpental have been postponed due to rain.

According to College of Idaho head coach, Ron Bonneau, temperatures on the hill were at 40-degrees at 8 a.m. this morning, with moderate rain, turning the course into a sloppy mess - dangerous for ski racing.

The qualifier will not be made up - as the teams will turn to giant slalom runs next weekend at Mount Spokane Ski Area.

Shenk's 3rd Leads Yotes at Alpental

The University of British Columbia swept the slalom team titles on Day 1 of the opening weekend of Northwest Collegiate Ski Conference action, at Snoqualmie Summit's Alpental Mountain.

The College of Idaho had a solid afternoon on the men's side, placing a close third, while the Lady Yotes had some tough luck, finishing fourth.
