3 Scholar-Athletes

Three College of Idaho softball players were among the 308 student-athletes honored today as Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes, announced prior to the semifinals of the NAIA National Championships in Orange Beach, Ala.

Junior Molly Mills and seniors Nikki Shumway and Jordan Huttash were honored for having being at least a junior in academic status and maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or better at The C of I.

Mills Named All-Region

Molly Mills was honored today as a member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-NAIA West Region first-team, announced by the NFCA office in Starkville, Miss.

Mills had a banner junior season, setting school records for batting average, on-base percentage, hits, and hit-by-pitches, helping the Lady Yotes to a 29-15 record.  She was one of four Cascade Conference players on the first-team, joined by Corban catcher Rachel Conard, Corban outfielder Stephanie Nippert, and Oregon Tech catcher Kayde Schaefer.

Trio Named All-CCC

Three College of Idaho players were honored today as members of the 2012 All-Cascade Conference softball team, announced at the start of the CCC Championships in Klamath Falls, Ore.

Nickayla Skinner was honored for the second-straight season, while Molly Mills and Nikki Shumway were honored as first-team picks for the first time.
