Lady Yotes Named "Team of the Week"

The College of Idaho softball team was honored today as the Verizon-Cascade Conference Team of the Week, announced tonight by the league office in La Grande, Ore.

The Lady Yotes are coming off a four-game sweep of Dickinson State in which the squad outscored the Blue Hawks, which received votes in the preseason NAIA Top-25 Poll, 42-10.

With the wins, The C of I improved their record to 13-3 on the year - the best 16-game start in program history.

The squad returns to action next weekend with a four-game series vs. British Columbia.

Lady Yotes Sweep Aside Dickinson St.

Alexis Macias roped a go-ahead RBI single in the sixth inning of Game 1, then pitched a three-hit shutout in Game 2, as The College of Idaho completed a four-game sweep of Dickinson State, winning 7-4 and 11-0 today at Symms Field.

Lady Yotes Beat Cold and DSU

Alexis Macias tossed a complete-game three-hitter in the opener, while combining to drive in seven runs on the afternoon, as The College of Idaho swept a doubleheader from Dickinson State, 11-2 and 10-6, at Symms Field.

The Lady Yotes (11-3) battled a stiff breeze and a hailstorm to complete a sweep of a fellow NAIA team receiving votes in the national poll.

Skinner Earns 2nd Pitcher of the Week

College of Idaho right-hander Nickayla Skinner was honored today as Red Lion-Cascade Conference Pitcher of the Week, announced by the league office in La Grande, Ore.

Yotes Sweep Final Day in Portland

Kristen Haugen drove in four runs in the opener and Nikki Shumway won Game 2 with a walk-off RBI double, as The College of Idaho closed out play at the Northwest Cup with a 10-7 victory over Lewis & Clark College and a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Willamette University in Clackamas, Ore.

The Lady Yotes (9-3) equaled their best start in program history with the wins and finished tournament play with a 4-2 record.

Pavey Ties Record in Yotes Split

Kendall Pavey tied a school record with six RBI in a Game 2 victory over Pacific University, as The College of Idaho split two games today at the Northwest Cup in Clackamas, Ore.

The Yotes (7-3) lost the opening game to George Fox, 5-4, but rebounded for a 10-8 victory over PU.

Yotes Split in Rainy Portland

The College of Idaho experienced both ends of a seventh inning home run this afternoon at the Northwest Cup in rainy Clackamas, Ore., as the Lady Yotes defeated Whitworth University, 2-1, before losing a tough 8-6 decision to the University of British Columbia.

Nikki Shumway cracked a walk-off solo homer in the bottom of the seventh inning to win Game 1, while UBC centerfielder Brittany Meyer hit a two-out, three-run homer in the seventh to give the T-Birds the Game 2 victory.

Skinner named CCC POTW

College of Idaho right-hander Nickayla Skinner was honored today as Red Lion-Cascade Conference Pitcher of the Week, announced by the league office in La Grande, Ore.

The sophomore, from Mountain Home, had a dominating performance at the Simpson Invitational in California, going 2-0 with a 0.95 ERA in four appearances, allowing just 11 hits and striking out 35 batters.
