Lady Yotes Finish 5-1 in California

The College of Idaho picked up a pair of wins on the final day of the Simpson Invitational in Redding, Calif. - finishing their most prolific opening weekend in the 11 year history of the program.

The Lady Yotes (5-1) opened the day with a 10-2 victory over Patten University, then scored a 12-8 victory over Biola, before dropping a tough 3-2 decision to No. 8 ranked Concordia-Irvine.

The five wins to open a season was a new program record.

Lady Yotes Go 3-0 on Opening Day

The College of Idaho softball team opened the 2012 with a trio of victories at the Simpson Invitational Tournament in Redding, Calif.

The Lady Yotes (3-0) opened with an 11-1 victory over host Simpson, knocked off Holy Names, 7-4, and closed the day under the lights with a 6-0 shutout of William Jessup.

2012 SYNOPSIS: The Lady Yotes return six starters, including a pair of All-Cascade Conference selections off a team that narrowly missed the postseason in 2011.  With 13 returning players and a small, but quality recruiting class, the squad is poised to return to the playoffs for the first time since 2009.  

Lady Yotes receive votes in NAIA Softball Poll

The College of Idaho received six voter points in the 2012 NAIA Softball Preseason Top-25 Coaches' Poll, released this afternoon by the national office in Kansas City. Mo.

The Lady Yotes, coming off a 24-16 season, were one of four Cascade Conference teams found in the poll - as defending national champion, Oregon Tech, was ranked No. 1, Corban was ranked No. 23, with Concordia receiving votes.

The C of I opens up the 2012 season in early February at the Simpson Invitational.

Softball Alumni Game set for October 8

The College of Idaho softball team will be having their annual Alumni Game on Oct. 8 at Symms Field on The C of I campus.

The 2011-12 varsity team will play a scrimmage against former Lady Yote alumni, with a barbeque to follow.

Kurdy earns NFCA NAIA All-West Region honor

College of Idaho catcher Kalie Kurdy capped off an outstanding career with another accolade, earning second-team NAIA All-West Region honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

The senior, from Boise, established a new school record by hitting .418 on the season, leading the Lady Yotes to a 24-16 mark.  Kurdy was previously honored as an All-Cascade Conference selection.

Softball Camp pushed back one week

The College of Idaho youth softball camp has been pushed back one week, announced today by head coach Al Mendiola.

The event, for children between 4th and 8th grade, will take place each morning  from June 13-15.
