skinner wins 4th-straight CCC weekly award
A dominant weekend in the circle landed College of Idaho's Nickayla Skinner her fourth-straight Red Lion-Cascade Conference Pitcher of the Week award, announced this afternoon by the league office in La Grande, Ore.
The sophomore, from Mountain Home, went 3-1 on the week, allowing just one run in 25 innings of work, while striking out 37 batters. She recorded two-hit shutouts of both Concordia and Northwest Christian, while recording a one-hit shutout against Eastern Oregon. Against both CU and EOU, she struck out 12 batters. Skinner came in from the pen in the series finale against Eastern, notching her fifth save of the season - breaking C of I's single-season record.
For the year, she leads the CCC in both earned run average and strikeouts.
The Lady Yotes return to action this weekend with road games at Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon.
