The College of Idaho men's tennis team split a pair of matches today in Lewiston, dropping a 9-0 decision to host Lewis-Clark State, before winning a 6-3 match-up with the Community Colleges of Spokane.

Against L-C, the Yotes (3-8) won their first set against the nationally-ranked Warriors since The C of I reinstated the program in 2009, as Chenjerai Simpson dropped a 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-5 in superbreaker) decision to Ivan Krijanto.  However, L-C dominated all three doubles' matches and swept the singles' ladder.

Against CCS, the Coyotes won 2-of-3 doubles' matches, including an 8-4 win by Simpson and Mark Malmstrom at No. 1, over Zack Juhre and Rylan Herdt.  In singles', the Yotes won two three-set matches, including a hard-fought 1-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-8 in superbreaker) by Zach Buker at No. 4 over Sam Delaney.  A 6-4, 6-4 win by Joel Hernandez over Hahn Jackson at No. 6 clinched the victory.

Both C of I teams will be in action next week at Treasure Valley CC - the women on Tuesday, the men on Thursday, with both matches at 4 p.m.
