lady yotes earn berth to NAIA Championships
For the first time in program history, The College of Idaho women’s golf team will play in the NAIA National Championships, as the Lady Yotes earned an at-large berth to the annual event in Greeneville, Tenn.
The Yotes, ranked No. 19 in the final Top-25 poll – released this morning, earned one of 13 at-large berths to the 28-team field. In 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2001 – Jenni Rodwell represented the Yotes in the event as an individual, earning All-America honors, while in 2003, both Roslyn Folk and Sarah Gallant earned individual berths.
Two other NAIA West Grouping teams qualified for the tournament – No. 13 ranked Concordia and No. 23 ranked Point Loma Nazarene.
Held at Link Hills Golf Club, the 72-hole tournament will begin May 15, with a cut occurring after 54-holes (Top-17 teams and ties, along with Top-40 individuals and ties advancing to the final round).
