swim team pushes recruiting class to 19

College of Idaho swim coach Christine Mabile has announced the signing of five student-athletes to NAIA Letters of Intent for the 2012-13 season, brining her total of incoming recruits to 19.

Three women - Madi Sato, Tori Emerick, and Hannah Biedenbach, and two men - Nolan Hill and Brennan Baker, will compete for the Coyote teams which placed in the Top-20 at last season's NAIA National Championships.

Sato, from Central High in Cheyenne, Wyo., recorded a pair of Top-8 finishes at the Wyoming High School Championships, placing fifth in the 500-free (5:24.46) and eighth in the 200-free (2:02.41), while Emerick, from Wood River High in Hailey, finished eighth in the 100-back (1:06.01) and ninth in the 200-IM (2:25.64) at the Idaho State Championships.

Hill had a banner season at Pendleton High in Pendleton, Ore., finishing third in the 5A State Championships in both the 100-free (48.40) and the 200-free (1:44.68).  Baker, from Bonneville High in Idaho Falls, was the captain of the Idaho Falls Cutthroats Swim Club, recording top times of 1:57 in the 200-free and 17:41 in the 1,650-free.  Biedenback, from Twin Falls. recorded top times as a prep of 1:15.79 in the 100-breast and 1:09.42 in the 100-fly.
