IT's FRIENDS (KAN.) in SIoux CITY 

The College of Idaho will meet Friends University in the first round of the 2012 State Farm-NAIA Division II Women’s Basketball National Championships on Wednesday in Sioux City, Iowa.

Women's Basketball

lady yotes #16 in final poll 

The College of Idaho climbed four spots in the final NAIA Division II Women’s Basketball Top-25 Coaches’ Poll of the regular-season, finishing in the No. 16 position, as the ranking was released this morning by the national office in Kansas City, Mo.

The Lady Yotes (22-8), winners of six-in-a-row and 11 of their past 12 games, claimed the Cascade Conference Tournament championship with an 80-68 victory on Monday night over Corban University.

Baseball

fabricius leads yotes past nnu 

Zach Fabricius threw eight innings of four-hit ball as The College of Idaho defeated Canyon County rival Northwest Nazarene, 5-1, this afternoon at Elmore Vail Field.

The win for the Coyotes (13-4) was their 161st against the NCAA Division II Crusaders' since the 1930s - but the first meeting between the teams since the 2007 season.

Izaac Garsez used RBI singles in the first and third innings to give the Coyotes a 2-0 lead - as Fabricius was on cruise control.  The lefty retired 14 men in a row until a bunt single in the seventh.

YOTES SEASON ENDS IN CCC QUARTERFINALS: Trying to become just the third team in the 20-year history of the Cascade Conference Championships to pull an upset in a No. 8 seed vs. No. 1 seed game, The C of I fell short at Oregon Tech, as the regular-season champs toppled the Yotes, 79-53.  The loss ended the Coyote season with a record of 10-20.
