lady yotes ranked #22 in NAIA poll 

For the first time in over two seasons, The College of Idaho climbed into the Top-25 as the first NAIA Softball Coaches' Poll of the 2012 regular-season was released this afternoon by the national office in Kansas City, Mo.

Golf

Lady Yotes 3rd, men 5th at concordia invite 

Rain and snow hampered the first Cascade Conference golf tournament of the Spring Season - as The College of Idaho women placed third and the Coyote men placed fifth at the Concordia Invitational, played at Camas Meadows Golf Club in Camas, Wash.

A spring snowstorm over the weekend limited practice rounds and delayed Monday's opening round by nearly four hours - with the opening day trimmed to just 27 holes.

Tennis

netters fall at foothill cc 

Day 3 of the Spring Break trip to California was a rough one for The College of Idaho men's team, as the Coyotes were swept by junior college power, Foothill College, 9-0, in Los Altos Hills.

Coming off back-to-back victories, the Yotes struggled against one of the premier programs in the Golden State - as Foothill limited The C of I to just two games won in doubles' play, then swept the singles' ladder, with no Coyote winning more than two games in a match.

No results were provided for the Lady Yotes match with Sonoma State.

Softball

c of I-EOU games moved to monday 

Today's Cascade Conference softball doubleheader between The College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon University, scheduled for 3 p.m., was postponed due to snowfall in the La Grande area (pictured).

The two teams have rescheduled the games for next Monday, March 26, at 3 p.m.

The Lady Yotes return to action on Friday, hosting Concordia University at 2 p.m.

c of i sweeps opponents in california 

Day 2 of the Spring Break trip for The College of Idaho was a banner one, as both the Coyote men and women picked up wins in California - the Yotes winning 7-2 at DeAnza College, with the Lady Yotes picking up a 6-0 victory at Notre Dame de Namur.

Softball

skinner sweeps red Lion-ccc weekly awards 

Colege of Idaho sophomore Nickayla Skinner swept the weekly Red Lion-Cascade Conference softball awards, earning Player and Pitcher of the Week honors, announced this afternoon by the league office in La Grande, Ore.

The right-hander, from Mountain Home, became the first Lady Yote to sweep the awards since Katie Zillner earned both honors in May of 2006.

Track & Field

mitchell named CCC Runner of the week 

College of Idaho sprinter Diamond Mitchell was honored today as Cascade Conference Women's Track and Field Runner of the Week, announced by the league office in La Grande, Ore.

The sophomore, from San Diego, Calif., opened up the outdoor season with a bang - winning the 100 and 200-meter events at Saturday's Pacific Preview.  Mitchell established two school records with her time of 12.50 in the 100 and 25.71 in the 200, both CCC Championships qualifying marks.

Women's Basketball

lady yotes ranked #22 in final poll 

The College of Idaho was ranked No. 22 in the 2011-12 NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Top-25 Postseason Poll, released this afternoon by the national office in Kansas City, Mo.

The Lady Yotes (22-9) won their second Cascade Conference Tournament title in three seasons and made their fourth-straight trip to the NAIA National Championships.  The C of I received 105 voter points in the tabulation - dropping six spots from the final regular-season poll after a 69-54 loss to Friends (Kan.) in the national tournament.

Baseball

yotes win series finale at L-C State, 9-6 

Taylor Nicholson tossed seven strong innings and Tanner Hodges drove in three runs as The College of Idaho won today's series finale with Lewis-Clark State, 9-6, at Harris Field in Lewiston.

The win for the Yotes (19-8, 5-3 NAIA West) earned a series split with the No. 13 ranked Warriors - the first series split with L-C since the 2002 season.

Track and Field

yotes notch big marks at pacific preview 

Jason Hunt hit the NAIA "B" qualifying standard in winning the 5,000-meters, while four school records fell on the women's side, as The College of Idaho opened up the outdoor track and field season at the Pacific Preview in Forest Grove, Ore.
