Student Experience Blog: April 2012

I've eaten so many viruses over the past week

They make these bracelets for anything.

This is what my nurse gave me so I'd remember to take my typhoid vaccine every other day. I took a pill each morning, filled with a nice dose of living Typhoid to tango with my immune system. I finished the course today. Hoping that it sticks.

Full Bloom

In addition to the dozens of trees full of white and pink flowers, something else blossoms in the spring here at The College of Idaho: Greek life.

Teaching Coyotes to Swim: Academic Conferences and Building Ties

Things on my mind:

1. I leave for China in 26 days

2. I have an issue paper due in two weeks, a presentation due tomorrow, Initiation for my Fraternity this weekend

3. I have to finish registering for my classes next year

4. Not sure where I’m living for Fall...

ResLife Hwy Clean-up

"How does Chinden Blvd. look so well kept?" you may ask... Well, your RA's clean it up, of course!  Three times a year, the trusty College of Idaho Residence Life staff put on their neon armour and gloves to conquer the trash that is littered along a section of Chinden Blvd. here in Caldwell.

Surviving Spring

This time of year (I discovered by using my awesome freshman observing skills) is dangerous. The evil sun beckons. It beckons each and every one of us to unlock our inner child and lay out in the sun, play frisbee, and climb trees.

It's hard to do anything else but spend the entire day outside. Even though I really wish i could spend an entire day outside, i can't. For many it can be difficult to find the motivation to carry on, especially for seniors who are experiencing symptoms of senioritis at this time.

Spring Break!

Spring Break! I don’t know about you but when I think of Spring Break I picture an entire week on the beach, an overdose of sun, and fun times with friends.  As a freshman I had this preconception that Spring Break was reserved for road trips and partying. Naturally my friends and I proceeded to plan a week-long trip to Canada. Why Canada you may ask? Well, it was close by, it was a whole new country and none of us had ever been there.  Being the naïve teenagers that we are, the cost of the trip was not really taken into much consideration.
