Glammed Up

Everyone knows that the best part about a school dance is not the free Panda Express, the sweet venue in downtown Boise, or the charismatic DJ’s (although those things never go unnoticed)… All that anyone really cares about, and remembers for that matter, is getting dressed up, curled, and glossed with the girls!

Full Bloom

In addition to the dozens of trees full of white and pink flowers, something else blossoms in the spring here at The College of Idaho: Greek life.

Bundled in Boise

This last weekend was a blast– not only was it the half way mark of Winter Term, but my handsome suitor was in town, and we got to explore the local scene.  Last time, we visited Lucky Peak, which was appropriate in the 90 degree weather in mid-September.  This time around, however, we hit the town.

Oh November

I’ve gotten lost. I think it started sometime a little before Thanksgiving. I feel strange saying that a lot’s going on at the moment, (because when is that not true for anybody?) but it’s the only way I can honestly express how I’ve been seeing life.

Fall break. I will overcome you!

Whew! I'm glad that’s over. You know what I’m talking about: Midterm week. That was intense! Yes, I am sure many of my fellow bloggers have stated otherwise (no offense to them; I love them dearly), but I am a dramatic freshman; and for me it was a very intense, stressful, midterm week.

The Disease is spreading …

Literally. Not only is it Human vs Zombies week here at The College of Idaho, but it is also flu season. It is kind of like the game Humans vs Zombies, someone starts off with the disease and once that person touches someone else it starts to spread. It’s a little more technical than that, but you get my point.

Hogwarts

I’m in college. A conversation with two or more people can’t last too long without it eventually turning towards Jimmy Stewart or Harry Potter.

I read the series. I’m familiar with all the Potter lore. I hated the movies. People (girls) rag on me all the time about this. I hate them. But the great thing about talking about these teenage wizards is that it’s easy to draw a lot of lines between the fantasy of Hogwarts and our campus.

I knew it was coming!

I AM A PROCRASTINATOR! There I said it! Happy!? No need to keep it bottled up inside anymore. I have been a procrastinator since I was in elementary school. The thing is though, I thought I learned my lesson since then. I told myself not to be involved in too many things this year and that way there would be no way I could get behind! WRONG! It sucks that I cannot join a sorority, or choir, or martial arts, or Model UN, or any other really epic thing that campus offers but I simply do not have time.

G-Life

So many letters, so many colors, so many girls! That’s right, rush week is here, meaning formal recruitment for the sororities on (and off) campus is in full bloom…

This is my first formal recruitment within Kappa Alpha Theta, and I cannot help but absolutely love it.  It gives me a great opportunity to spend time with all of my ‘sisters’, as well as meet a big pack of freshmen, plus a sprinkle of sophomores and juniors.

Finding Ways… It’s Easy

Some of you might have been thinking where have I been. Admittedly, I’ve been around, but had a hard time writing. You see, writing isn’t something that you just do. I have a tendency of writing about some things I’m passionate about more frequently than others. As far as a passion goes, well, it comes and goes. Not to despair, as you continue reading, you not only will learn about something I am passionate about, but also about to how sustain your passions amidst a very busy college life here on our great campus.
