Student Experience Blog: Recreation

Summer fun

There’s so much to experience here in the Pacific Northwest, I wanted to share a few photos from my recent adventures.

My boyfriend took on the eighty footer here while cliff jumping at Banks Lake, Washington.

The view of Mt. Rainier from the top of Crystal Ski Resort! We had perfect weather!

Did you go to that?

A lot of people fear the power of online social networks, the pervasiveness of their existence and the level of intrusion into their lives. The jury is still out on a lot of the implications that arise from this new phenomena of our culture, and I’m still not sure how I feel about a lot of what’s happening within this mostly unexplored frontier.

What to do?

It’s so close; I can smell it! College! The dorm life, the awesome campus events, the life changing classes; I cannot wait for this experience to begin! The countdown is beginning to come to an end, and by the end of this week, I will be making my next post as a college student. However, no matter how excited I am, I am still extremely stressed. Don’t get me wrong; I’m super grateful to have a job, I like having home-cooked food with my family, and I like reading for pleasure.

From Sky to Sea …

Washington. The motherland, I like to call it, and it is the place I refer to as home.  As much as I enjoy my time in the Treasure Valley (still lookin’ for that treasure), I cherish the time spent on my own turf.  Just within this last week, I have seen all of the W-A’s dramatic sights, from the dry plains of Eastern Washington, to the rocky terrain of the Cascades…

Balancing the besties

By Sara Davis

Summer is such a time warp. I swear it was just last week I was hauling my wardrobe, bedding, microwave, roommate, mini-fridge, lamp, stale popcorn, towels and guitar between my freshman dorm and my chariot (a periwinkle Toyota Highlander, i.e. Heidi). And to think I have to haul all of that back to Idaho in but a MONTH?! Cut me some slack, Father Time.
