Five NAIA qualifying marks and two school records highlighted The College of Idaho's first home swim contest of the 2011-12 season, as the Coyotes and Soka University of American battled in a long course dual inside the J.A. Albertson Aquatics Center.

The Lions, from Aliso Viejo, Calif., won both team match-ups - earning a 138-99 victory in the men's competition, and winning 107-84 on the women's side. 

Lucas Hill picked up a pair of wins - both hitting NAIA qualifying times in the process.  The junior became the first C of I swimmer to break the two-minute barrier in the 200-butterfly, winning in a time of 1:58.80 - eclipsing the NAIA "A" standard.  He followed it up with a "B" qualifying time in winning the 200-backstroke.

Kemp Smith swept both distance events - winning the 500-free (5:12.14) and meeting the NAIA "B" standard in the 1,650-free (17:46.18).  Casey Walker also won two events - the 100-breaststroke (1:06.11) and the 100-free (52.15), with Matt Malek winning the 200-breast (2;45.37).  Miles Veasey won the 200-free (1:52.30) and the 200-IM (2:06.33) for SUA.

Chrissie Younggren had a big day for the Lady Yotes, setting a new school record with a victory in the 1,650-free (19:24.01), while hitting the NAIA "B" cut.  Younggren also won the 200-breast (2:40.63), missing the "B" standard by less than two-tenths of a second, while swimming a leg in C of I's victorious 200-free relay, which hit the NAIA "A" standard.  Selena Warburton picked up the other win by the Lady Yotes in the 500-free (6:06.45).  Michelle Nunn was the story for the Lions, winning three events - the 200-IM (2:28.53), the 50-free (25.83), and the 100-free (56.93).

The two teams will conclude the weekend with a short-course dual tomorrow at 5:30 p.m.
