Swim Team Adds 4 More

College of Idaho swimming coach Christine Mabile has announced the signing of four more student-athletes to NAIA Letters of Intent for the 2012-13 season.

Both Logan Gomez and Kirby Roberts will join five other women's swimmers who have previously signed as part of the recruiting class, while Andrew Hasbrook (pictured) and Seth Helbling become the first two men's swimmers to join the Coyotes for next season.

Gomez, from La Grande, Ore., had a banner prep career at La Grande High - earning team MVP as a freshman, sophomore, and senior.  This past season, she won the 4A state title in the 100-backstroke (1:00.67) and helped the 400-free relay team to a title.  Her top-time in the 500-freestyle is 5:23.10 - 15 seconds under the current C of I record.

Roberts, from Plymouth, Mass., helped Bishop Stang High to a third-place finishing in the MIAA Division II state championships.  She was a member of the 200-free relay team that won the state title, while recording Top-12 finishes in both the 50-free (25.63) and 100-free (57.72).

Hasbrook, from Monmouth, Ore., qualified for the 4A state championships each of his four years at Central High - earning All-Mid Valley Conference honors.  His top sprint times include 22.05 in the 50-free and 51.27 in the 100-free.

Helbling, from Coeur d'Alene, helped Lake City High win the state title in the 400-free relay - setting a Idaho state record.  He has career-best marks of 23.40 in the 50-free and 59.70 in the 100-butterfly.
