Both College of Idaho tennis teams closed out the 2011 season this afternoon with victories over Treasure Valley Community College, the men winning 4-3, with the women winning 7-0, at the Laura Moore Cunningham Courts.
The Coyote men finish the season 0-10 in counting matches and 3-1 in exhibitions, while the Lady Yotes finish 0-9 in counters, but a perfect 4-0 in exhibitions.
The Coyote men picked up wins at No. 3-5 singles - the key in avenging a loss to the Chukars last month. Joel Hernandez topped Clay Cooley 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3, Thomas McMahon stopped Kyle McFelridge 6-1, 6-3 at No. 4, and Jaron Tietsort won his fifth-straight match at No. 5, 6-1, 6-0 over Brendan Hytrek.
The Lady Yotes made it a clean sweep of TVCC, claiming both doubles points and winning all five singles matches - including a 6-1, 6-0 win by Hayley Hutchings at No. 1 over Brandi Richner and a hard-fought 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 (10-3 superbreaker) by Teresa Kucera over Lindsey Jones at No. 2.
