Holt Named All-American in 800-Meters

Hillary Holt broke her own school record in the 800-meters, earning NAIA All-America honors by placing fifth, highlighting the final day for The College of Idaho at the 2011 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Marian, Ind.

The freshman, who placed tenth earlier in the day in the 1,500-meters (4:37.98), was in a tight pack for 2nd through 5th place, with her time of 2:10.77 just one-tenth of a second away from fourth.  Holt's efforts helped the Lady Yotes place 43rd overall in the meet.

Hillary Holt smashed the school record in the 800-meters, one of three College of Idaho competitors advancing to tomorrow's finals at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Marian, Ind.

Holt, a freshman from Boise, placed second in her heat, logging a time of 2:11.35 - easily advancing to tomorrow's final.  Also headed to the finals are Paul Sartin and Greg Montgomery, who each moved on in the 5,000-meters - a day after both recorded Top-10 finishes in the 10,000-meter final.

Montgomery Takes Sixth-Place in 10,000-Meters at NAIA Championships

Greg Montgomery earned NAIA All-America honors in placing sixth in the 10,000-meters, highlighting Day 1 for The College of Idaho at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in Marian, Ind.

The sophomore, from Boise High, broke his own school record in the event, running 30:18.92, earning the Yotes three team points. Teammate Paul Sartin finished ninth, with a personal-best time of 30:31.25.
