Track Team of the Week

The College of Idaho track and field team was honored as Verizon-Cascade Conference Team of the Week, announced tonight by CCC Commissioner Rob Cashell.

The Coyotes had a banner weekend - competing at both the Oregon Relays and the Northwest Nazarene Invitational.  C of I athletes combined to record eight NAIA national qualifying marks, recorded eight school records, will winning nine overall events at the two meets.

Eight Records Fall at NNU

College of Idaho athletes earned six NAIA National Championship qualifying marks, won nine events, and set eight school records this afternoon at the Northwest Nazarene Open in Nampa.

Andre Archer uncorked a school-record leap of 47-6 1/2 in the triple jump, hitting an NAIA “A” standard in winning the event.  Austin Basterrechea won the long jump with a season-best mark of 22-0 1/4.

2 "A" Times at U of O

Greg Montgomery and Hillary Holt each hit NAIA "A" qualifying marks, leading The College of Idaho contingent at the Oregon Relays, hosted by the University of Oregon, at historic Hayward Field.

Montgomery placed fifth in a competitve 5,000-meter field, recording a time of 14:31.53 - the ninth fastest mark in the NAIA this spring.  Holt recorded a time of 4:36.34 in the 1,500-meters, the fifth-fastest time in the NAIA - her first 1,500 race in an injury sidelined her prior to the NAIA Indoor National Championships, where she was seeded No. 1 in the mile.

Yotes Win 5 at EOU Open

College of Idaho athletes won five events at today's Eastern Oregon Open in La Grande, Ore.

Competing less than 24 hours after the John Knight Twilight in Monmouth, Ore., the Lady Yotes picked up three wins in the field events - as Audrey Youren won the high jump (5-1), Hailey Bull the triple jump (34-8 1/2), and Jessica Aguilar won the shot put (36-9 3/4).  Diamond Mitchell had a pair of seconds in the sprints - clocking a 12.45 in the 100-meters and 25.88 in the 200-meters, while Lexis Lange broke the school record in the pole vault (9-0 1/4).

6 NAIA Marks at WOU Twilight

School record performances by Sora Klopfenstein and Mike Hurd were among the six NAIA national qualifying marks established by College of Idaho competitors at the John Knight Twiligh, hosted by Western Oregon University, in Monmouth, Ore.

Klopfenstein hit the NAIA "A" mark in placing fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, clocking a time of 11:07.65.  Hurd knocked over a second off the 400-meter hurdle record, establishing an NAIA "B" mark with his second-place finish in 54.31.
