Co-curricular Transcript Policy and Procedures
In support of The College of Idaho's mission as a residential private liberal arts college, we believe meaningful learning occurs in all realms of a student's educational experience. From the classroom to the residence halls, all campus experiences help prepare students for professional life, graduate school, and civic involvement. The co-curricular transcript provides documentation of a student's out-of-class learning, as the curricular transcript does of a student's in-class learning.
Co-curricular transcripts include the following information:
- Participation on college athletic teams.
- Service as an officer in campus clubs and organizations.
- Campus leadership positions (ASCI, Residence Life).
- Debate and Model United Nations.
Unofficial Co-curricular Transcripts
Students may request an unofficial co-curricular transcript at no cost. Unofficial co-curricular transcripts can be useful for students who are working on building a resume or in reflecting on experiences to include in an application for graduate school. Unofficial co-curricular transcripts are not signed by college officials and are marked with an "unofficial" watermark.
Official Co-curricular Transcripts
The official co-curricular transcript is an official document of The College of Idaho authorized by the Division of Student Affairs. Official co-curricular transcripts can be useful as part of an application for graduate school or as an addendum to an employment application. Official co-curricular transcripts are signed by the Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Students. In order to obtain an official co-curricular transcript, the student must attend a "Succeeding with Your Co-curricular Transcript" session with the Center for Experiential Learning.
Requesting a Co-curricular Transcript
To request a co-curricular transcript, students must turn in a co-curricular transcript request form to the Office of Student Involvement in the McCain Student Center. The transcript request form is available online as a PDF, or as a hard copy in the McCain Student Center. Requests for unofficial co-curricular transcripts will take up to three days to process. Requests for official co-curricular transcripts will take up to two weeks to process.
Students will be notified via email when the unofficial co-curricular transcript has been processed. Unofficial co-curricular transcripts must be picked up in person by the student in the Office of Student Involvement.
When the official co-curricular transcript has been verified and signed by the Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Students, the student will be notified via email that it has been sent to the address specified on the request form.
Making Changes to a Co-curricular Transcript
If a student feels there has been something omitted from their co-curricular transcript, the student can fill out a co-curricular transcript change request and have it signed by the advisor for the activity that was left off of the transcript. This form can be obtained from the Office of Student Involvement located in the McCain Center. Once the verification form is returned to the Office of Student Involvement in the McCain Center, the co-curricular transcript will be corrected and reprinted.
