The Allotria Jazz Band from Munich Germany on Tuesday, October 14, is one of the most eclectic of the European jazz bands. They play music of the first four decades of the 1900’s including the many varied traditional jazz styles of Ragtime, New Orleans, Blues, and Boogie and especially Dixieland and Swing. The flexibility of Allotria provides a very interesting program. They have enough brass players to recall the small big bands of the thirties. They will be highlighted at the Sun Valley Swing ‘n’ Dixie Jazz Festival this year. Tom Hazzard, director of the festival, said, “Allotria was voted the most outstanding band at the San Diego Jazz Festival last year.”
