Sonos Handbell Ensemble |
| April 18 Sunday $10-14 adult; $6-10 student Workshop on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Download registration form. The season concludes with a first-time-ever presentation by hand bells on April 18, also a Sunday. The Sonos Handbell Ensemble is a professional organization out of Oakland, California. They showcased at the Arts Northwest Conference of presenters last November and were a stunning success. Most people hear bells only occasionally and then in a church setting. This group brings a new dimension to the concert stage. They perform works such as the “William Tell Overture,” “Clair de Lune,” the Bach “Toccata in D Minor,” Aaron Copland’s “Rodeo,” popular and novelty tunes with precision and panache. The stage presence is so interesting. Some members even added costume touches. “There are many nuances to how bells sound and ways that you ring or hit them. I was quite astonished,” Sylvia Hunt said. The group will be offering a workshop on the afternoon of the performance. Sonos Handbell Ensemble Website . |
