"Brilliant!"  Time Magazine

"Legendary"  New York Times

"A comedy powerhouse."  Chicago Tribune

The Second City is an improvisational comedy troupe named after the city of its birth, Chicago. The touring company has been the springboard for generations of the comedy world’s best and brightest, including Joan Rivers, Dan Aykroyd, Alan Alda, John Belushi, Gilda Radner, Martin Short, Mike Myers, and even the voice of Homer Simpson. The Second City has been producing television and film since the early Sixties and is probably best known for the classic Emmy-Award winning series SCTV, which played for eight seasons in the US and can still be seen on TVLand in Canada. Since its release in June, 2004, SCTV has climbed to the top of the home video sales charts and garnered dozens of rave reviews, from The New York Times to USA Today. Their performance at the ARTS NORTHWEST SHOWCASE last October was warmly received by all the presenters.

The company set for the Caldwell performance includes:

Josh Miller (Stage manager) Josh Miller is very excited to be working with the Second City Touring Company. After graduation from Cal State Fullerton with a degree in directing he proceeded to not use it by working as a Casting Associate for NBC and as a Segment Producer for E! Entertainment TV. Mr. Miller is very happy to be back in the world of theatre! Josh recently directed “Dare to Offend” for the Second City’s Unhinged Festival and is a company member of Brown Couch Theatre. Love and Snacks to my people.

Joe Grazulis (Musical Director) is a graduate of Northwestern University in Evanston, IL where he received a BS in radio/TV/film. There he wrote and directed the film The Trailers which garnered 2nd place at the 2000 student Emmy’s. Joe has improvised and studied at Chicago’s ImprovOlympic, as well as served as their musical accompanist. Joe is thrilled to be with The Second City Touring Company.

Ryan Archibald is tickled and delighted to be a member of the Second City Touring Company. Ryan grew up in Barrington and attended the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana where he played football for the Fighting Illini. Ryan spent 2004 in Amsterdam performing with Europe’s top improvisational comedy institution, Boom Chicago. Before 2004, Ryan spent six years at Chicago’s Improv Olympic performing with many groups including: People of Earth, Atlantis, Armando Diaz Experience and Hootenanny, and We3. Ryan also participated in the first Second City Unhinged series with “Tuesday Night Special” and “The House.” Ryan enjoys directing and teaching comedy. Some of his successes include: “Atlantis presents: Orange,” “Four Square” and “The Good Time Hour.” At home, Ryan spends time loving his kittens and his beautiful lady, Magdalena. Ryan would like to thank his loving family, POE, Sofia Mia and her amazing parents, The Champagne Jam, Charna, Noah, Peter, Paul, Pep, and Joe Bill. Finally, Ryan would like to thank the Second City for making this dream a reality.

Hans Holsen grew up in Moline, IL, one of the Quad Cities. Name the other three. He improvises at ImprovOlympic with the resident company Baby Wants Candy and Little Room, and in the late-night show Lanky. With Robyn Norris he has written and performed three original sketch shows. With playwright Brett Neveu he developed American Shirt, a one-man improvised show. Another solo show, Ian Hector Young Tells YOU—During His Layover From L.A. To New York—How to Succeed As An Actor in Chicago, played to weirded-out audiences at ImprovOlympic. He has performed at ComedySportz as an ensemble member and in the Hot Karl, at the Neo-Futurarium with Barrel of Monkeys, and with Collaboraction in two Sketchbook festivals.

Andy St. Clair a native of Missouri, Andy received his B.F.A in Theatre from Southwest Missouri State before moving to Chicago. Since then he has performed at the ImprovOlympic, including "People of Earth," "Atlantis," "Armando Diaz Presents the Mosaic." He also has performed with "Tuesday Night Special" and "The House" at Second City. Andy is thrilled to be apart of the Second City National Touring Company and to be around so many talented and wonderful people here in Chicago. Andy would like to thank and say hello to his family and friends back in Missouri. He would also like to thank POE for all the support they have given him along the way.

Shelly Gossman is elated to join the Second City Touring Company. Through St.Olaf College (yes Betty White, Golden Girls) Shelly was able to study theater in South Africa, Moscow, and at the National Theatre Institute in CT- where she had her first improv class. Shelly has been performing, coaching, and/or teaching improv ever since. She has worked with amazingly talented people throughout her career and is thankful for all they have taught her. She is appearing this summer in Girl’s Night Out at the Second City Metropolis stage and can be seen weekly with Otis at the Improv Olympic. Shelly was a proud member of groups including Atlantis, Gossland, Echo Canyon, and POV. She would like to thank her family and friends (who happen to be the coolest people in the world) for all their love and support.

Megan Hovde is very excited and honored to be performing with Second City. Growing up, (which she hopes she is still doing) she studied theater in Chicago, Omaha, Kansas City and then Chicago again, not only because those are the places she lived, but also because she had great opportunities in each place. In addition to Second City she currently performs with the Galileo Players, in Meta 5 at the Improv Olympic, with the Ragdolls, with improv team KOKO, and in the two-person improvised show "Shared Property." She'd like to thank her history degree, her amazing family and Charlie & the cats for making her life rich in so many ways.

Dana Quercioli (pronounced Ker-see-oh-lee) Is honored to be performing with the talented members of the Second City Touring Company! She is originally from Cleveland, Oh, which despite the rumors, is a wonderful city. While in Ohio, Dana attended Cleveland State University, was a member of the first mainstage cast of Second City Cleveland, and performed at Cabaret Dada Improvisational Theater. In Chicago, she is lucky enough to perform with the insanely talented people involved in Showpony, MetaFive, and Little Room, Girls' Night Out, and her two woman show Babymakers. Dana would like to thank Second City for second chances, her wonderful friends, and her loving family for their support and inspiration, especially Josephine Grace, who is amazing. Dana is going to continue to "get some brains" for her Uncle Nick, and will "quit her sniveling" for her Dad.
