$8 - $11 student Dr. Daniel Stern, Conductor The Boise Baroque Orchestra was formed in 2003 with the goal of bringing the best of the baroque repertoire to the Treasure Valley. Its performing style is designed to create an intimate and highly entertaining concert experience. Boise Baroque's The orchestra has a particular interest in performing the obscure as well as the better-known works of the period. The diverse and exciting programming make the Boise Baroque Orchestra a favorite among the rich cultural offerings our community enjoys. Music Director and Conductor Daniel Stern grew up in Rochester, New York. After earning his bachelor's degree from the Eastman School of Music, he moved to Oregon where he taught in the Salem, Oregon Public Schools for two years. He then entered graduate school at the University of Oregon where he earned his masters and doctoral degrees in Music. From 1971 to 1974 he was on the faculty of New Mexico Highlands University as professor of Music. He also performed as a violinist in the University Trio and played in the Santa Fe Opera Orchestra. Dr. Stern moved to Idaho in 1974 as Music Director of the Boise Philharmonic, a position he held until 1987. In addition, he has also conducted numerous performances with the Boise Opera and Ballet Idaho.
