The College of Idaho has seen a marked increase in recurring gifts, especially from alumni, over the last several years. The College’s Boone Fund is the unrestricted giving program which supports the C of I’s ongoing operating needs. Named for founding president William Judson Boone, the fund reflects both his vision for the College and the dedication of those who nurture it today. A remarkable 36 percent of the College’s alumni supported the Boone Fund in 2010-2011. To make your gift to the Boone Fund today, please visit the fund webpage or contact Tara Wensel, director of the Boone Fund, at 208-459-5018 or email@example.com.
The College’s 1891 Society, named for the year in which the C of I was founded, was created to foster a spirit and culture of philanthropic leadership throughout the College community. The 1891 Society encourages active participation in campus life, and support of current and emerging academic priorities. 1891 Society members make annual gifts of $1,891 or more and receive special communications from the president through the year, and are invited to a special reception for members at the president’s home.
Gifts may be made in memory of and in honor of others. To learn more about ways to link family or friends with the College in this special way, please contact Kelly Lacey at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Many of the College’s alumni choose to commemorate a landmark reunion with a gift in support of today’s students. You may designate a gift to the Boone Fund or select a specific program or activity of interest. Many alumni make a larger than usual Boone Fund gift to celebrate a reunion, or choose to participate in a multi-year unrestricted pledge.
Senior Legacy Campaign
Ninety-seven percent of the Class of 2011 chose to participate in the Senior Legacy Campaign. If you’re a graduating senior who’s earned a scholarship, done research with faculty or participated in athletics, those activities were likely possible through a contribution to the Boone Fund. The Senior Legacy Campaign is your chance to thank the College, and your gift may be made in honor of a person who has impacted your C of I experience – both your names will be listed in the commencement program if your gift is received prior to May 1.
Whether it was a son or daughter who graduated recently or many years ago from the C of I, parents know how a College of Idaho education can influence a student’s life. Parent giving allows families to be involved in the educational experience of their children and support The College’s continued excellence. Annual gifts through the Boone Fund, gifts to support Advance The Legacy priorities, or planned gifts are all options for parents to consider.
