The College of Idaho golf team dates back decades, as from the 1940s through the late 1970s, Coyote teams competed within the Northwest Conference, with standout Loren Foye leading the way in the 1960s, winning the 1962, 1964, and 1965 NWC individual championship - still the lone C of I men's golfer to compete at the NAIA National Championships. After 20 years of being dormant, the program was reinstated in the 1990s - with a trio of women's players - Jenni Rodwell, Roslyn Folk, and Sarah Gallant all earning a spot at the NAIA Championships, with Rodwell earning three NAIA All-America honors.
